Tea break
Something different grabs my attention almost every day. I’m inspired by the people I meet, the things I do and the places I visit. Family, friends and colleagues are important to me. What motivates you? My zest for life, HR practices and recruitment trends, my garden and passion for baking all influence how I work. I’ve bundled up some of my thoughts and ideas into a few different collections.
So why not make yourself a drink, download my latest story and think about what you want to change? Go on, let yourself go and think crazy or outrageous. It’s how change happens.

Let them eat cake … fact or fiction?
A topical phrase allegedly spoken by the French queen. Topical as this week I’ve been making and baking and watching the Paris Olympics …
Time to move on again?
It’s official, my husband doesn’t want to live in a doll’s house. And neither do I although there’s little to do in our new (tiny) home. So, I tend to go around twice, plumping cushions …
All the fun of the farm and more …
To say that this year has been a rollercoaster is probably an understatement. I started thinking about my ambition for 2023 about this time last year ..
And today I'm wearing ...
Looking at the rain drenched garden and longing for warmer climes I’m reflecting on what can only be described as a very soggy summer. The garden is in serious need of some love …
Food for thought ...
I’ve concluded that I’m as addicted to Recruitment (and all things recruitment) as much as I’m addicted to all things food. Yes, and I’m finally admitting …
Declutter, detox and destress – live in the moment
This blog post emerged from a recent conversation with a friend (don’t they always?) about sorting out an accumulation of stuff (hers and mine). We both had much to contribute …
Asparagus, Avocado and Cavolo Nero
I love colour although these are not my colour choices for a new bathroom. These beauties are the mainstays of my current eating regime.
Absolutely Aldeburgh
Retailers as well as their stores appear to come and go, and Aldeburgh restaurants seem to rise and fall from grace, although the backbone of this glorious Suffolk High Street remains firm. And I love Aldeburgh for its familiarity …
Toast or triumph?
That lingering and intoxicating aroma of bread languishing in the toaster creates instant warmth and gets those taste buds dancing …
A celebration of self-love
What better time is there to treat yourself to some self-love than Valentines? I began with some new bras and a selection of professional chef’s knives …
When life gives you Lemons, make Lemonade
I love Lemons and I love this phrase. It’s so encouraging of optimism and positivity …
A Diva's Ambitions
What a year it’s been already. Glorious hellebores smiling at me by the front door and everything to look forward to as the garden matures. Snowdrops next …
Recruitment, back to basics
Hands up, I am not very good at listening to myself and the advice I often give to others. I am a bit of a magnet for other people’s problems and challenges. It just happens that way …
A jar of good ideas
A piece which compares recruitment with making marmalade – surely not? Well, today was marmalade making day and you know me, I don’t do one thing at a time …
Hidden memories
Shredding unwanted papers, a handful of mobile devices reset to factory settings and a trip to the tip – what more could a girl want?
A year reimagined
Who doesn’t like a new year? It’s like beginning a novel or flicking through a new foodie book and trying out a new recipe. I got the Hand and Flowers Cookbook from my husband this year …
Let’s talk CVs and bees
It’s a while since I wrote about CVs and their value in securing conversations about new roles or opportunities. Sometimes it’s easy to dismiss their importance because …
Asparagus for tea and positivity
A trip to a local farm shop to buy Asparagus in the middle of a sleet storm and of course I’d end up striking up a conversation …
Planes, trains and ... Salsa anyone?
There are some happy golfers sitting in the sunshine this afternoon wondering how they will ever get out of their chairs again …
New beginnings 2021 style
How’s your year going so far? Today it’s drizzling, it’s chilly yet it’s bright at the same time. It wasn’t long before I concluded that, “at the same time bright” is my 2021 vision.
