Confident, capable and colourful ... that's me

I love colour and what it says about my personality.  I absolutely recognize the need to conform, although I want to feel good about my appearance at work.  It’s a long time since I’ve worn the obligatory black business suit and neatly buttoned shirt, but that’s because I don’t have either in my wardrobe anymore.

One client described my appearance as quirky.  I wasn’t offended, I like to be original.  I thought my carefully chosen outfit was ideal for a first meeting.  For me the black knitted cashmere dress accessorised with stylish black Ferragamo pumps demonstrated confidence and professionalism.  But I needed to add some colour to my look – purple, iris maybe?

I completed that assignment with great success although I quickly learned that not everyone viewed iris-coloured tights in the same way that I did.  Fast-forward almost a decade and I still love to wear my coloured tights, but never red (with black) lest I look like a Nandos chicken.
